Purpose:

As a Manager Digital Strategy & Programs | Program Delivery in the adidas e-com EU organization, your task is to manage and deliver small- and mid-scale digital projects that are of strategic or tactical importance to the organization. Your objective is to conduct the projects within the boundaries of time, cost & quality while focusing on consumers’ expectations and requirements. The type of projects you will deliver are typically – but not limited to – new functionalities or services for our e-com consumers (such as new payment methods, new delivery methods or improvements the online customer journey), or foundational capabilities, structures and platforms that underpin the future success of our e-com channel in Europe. Planning, executing and tracking projects in cooperation with the respective functions and project team members are a few examples of what is expected from this role, but you also go beyond the “classic” PM duties and actively contribute to shape solutions. You know the ins and outs of the e-com journey end-toend, which puts you in a differentiated position to represent e-com cross-functionally. With your knowledge and experience along the full e-com shopping, fulfilment and post-sales flows, you add value by being the bridge between our tech and development teams on the one hand and our functional business teams on the other. You’re curiosity drives you to understand some of the technical detail behind the solutions and sets you up for success to deliver an experience that leaves no gaps for our consumers and internal operational teams. You are results-oriented and drive KPI-impact. You may be running multiple projects in parallel. Please be aware this is not a marketing projects/digital activation/campaign delivery focused role.

 

Key responsibilities: 

1. Program & project delivery:

• Successfully deliver projects end-to-end, from scoping and planning up to delivery, results reporting and handover.

• Drive business case discussions ensuring project benefits, costs and effort estimations are clarified

• Develop detailed plans that allow providing transparency on progress and identifying risks on time.

• Identify interdependencies with other projects and solve issues proactively.

• Ensure business and technical requirements are clearly mapped • Actively contribute to requirements and solution definition discussions

• Monitor KPI impact and take corrective action where needed.

• Capture and document project details, knowledge and learnings.

 

2. Resource planning

• Identify the stakeholders and resource needs to deliver and support projects

• Lead and coordinate multi-functional team of indirect resources

 

3. Communication

• Act as the key contact person for project stakeholders.

• Apply appropriate and effective communication methods to senior management and important stakeholders.

• As conflicts and escalations arise within projects, identify solutions and drive their resolution in a timely and appropriate manner or seek escalation via manager/director

• Manage change within projects and ensure changes are smoothly and successfully implemented to achieve lasting benefits.

 

4. Project Controlling

• Collaborate with Finance teams to align on business case and to manage project controlling ensuring that actual project costs are in line the committed budget.

• Validate if project are delivering against program KPIs.

 

5. “If required” responsibilities

• Support Sr Manager and Director in liaising with other departments to align on strategic priorities and influence roadmaps

• Share knowledge, learnings and best practices with other PMs, teams or regions.

• Support Program Delivery team communications and admin

• HR Management Requirements 

 

Education & Experience

• University degree with focus on Business Administration, IT or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 5+ years of in-depth experience related to project management or similar

• Experience in e-com, ideally across multiple areas in the e-com journey

• Experience in the e-com order management, fulfillment and post-sales areas is a plus

• Proven business acumen

• Experience working with stakeholders at various seniority levels as well as subject matter experts across various functions (developers, business stakeholders, product and marketing teams, etc.
